ELF5는 Ets 전사인자 계열의 상피 특이적 하위군에 속하는 단백질로, 각질형성세포의 말기 분화 단계 조절에 관여합니다. 또한 침샘, 전립선 등 선상 상피 조직에서 발현되는 상피 특이적 유전자의 발현을 조절합니다. N-말단의 음성 조절 도메인으로 인해 DNA 결합 친화도가 낮습니다.
