KIR2DL5A와 KIR2DL5B는 Killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs)로, 자연살해세포(NK cell) 및 일부 T 세포에서 발현되는 막관통 당단백질입니다.
KIR 유전자는 다형성과 높은 상동성을 가지며, 염색체 19q13.4의 leukocyte receptor complex(LRC) 내에 위치합니다.
KIR 단백질은 외부 면역글로불린 도메인의 수(2D 또는 3D)와 세포질 도메인의 길이(L 또는 S)에 따라 분류됩니다.
긴(L) 세포질 도메인을 가진 KIR은 ITIM을 통해 억제 신호를 전달하며, 짧은(S) 도메인을 가진 KIR은 TYRO 단백질 티로신 키나아제 결합 단백질과 연계되어 활성화 신호를 전달합니다.
KIR 단백질은 면역 반응 조절에 중요한 역할을 하며, KIR2DL5A 및 KIR2DL5B는 NK 세포에서 HLA-C 알렐과 결합하여 세포 용해를 억제합니다.
