Target Information
The LHX1 gene encodes a member of a large protein family containing the LIM domain, a cysteine-rich zinc-binding domain. The encoded protein may act as a transcriptional regulator involved in differentiation and development of neural and lymphoid cells. In mice, a similar protein is an essential regulator of the vertebrate head organizer.
