Target Information
CPA1 (Carboxypeptidase A1), also known as CPA, is a 419-amino-acid secreted monomeric protein highly expressed in pancreatic tissue. It functions as a zinc-dependent exopeptidase that catalyzes the release of C-terminal amino acids from proteins, playing a crucial role in protein digestion and degradation. CPA1 may also participate in zymogen inhibition, regulating enzyme activation pathways. Abnormal CPA1 expression is linked to pancreatic cancer, suggesting a potential role in tumor progression or suppression.
