Target Information
CPA1 (Carboxypeptidase A1) is a 419 amino acid secreted monomeric protein highly expressed in pancreatic tissue. It functions as a zinc-dependent exopeptidase that catalyzes the release of C-terminal amino acids from various proteins, playing a critical role in protein digestion and degradation. CPA1 may also participate in zymogen inhibition, preventing premature enzyme activation. Abnormal CPA1 expression is linked to pancreatic cancer, indicating its potential role in tumor progression or suppression.
