BST2 (CD317, HM1.24 antigen, DAMP-2, tetherin)
BST2는 B세포의 발달과 성장에 관여하는 막 단백질로, 섬유아세포 세포주에서의 표면 발현은 전B세포주 DW34의 성장에 기여합니다. BST2는 B세포 발달 단계 전반에서 높은 발현을 보이며, T세포, 단핵구, NK세포, 수지상세포 및 골수종 세포에서도 단백질 수준에서 검출됩니다.
연구에 따르면 BST2는 인간 세포에서 레트로바이러스 방출을 억제하며, HIV-1의 Vpu 단백질에 의해 길항됩니다. BST2의 결핍은 Vpu의 필요성을 제거하여 바이러스 방출을 가능하게 하며, 이는 HIV/AIDS 치료 전략 연구에 활용될 수 있습니다. 또한 BST2 이상은 구내염(stomatitis)과도 관련이 있습니다.
