Product Specific Information
- This antibody does not react with Rat.
- For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris Buffer with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Tenascin is a high molecular weight, multifunctional extracellular matrix glycoprotein expressed during mesenchymal-epithelial interactions in development and in the neovasculature and stroma of undifferentiated tumors (Erickson and Bourdon, 1989).
It has been described under various names such as cytotactin, hexabrachion protein, J1, myotendinous antigen (MI), and glioma mesenchymal extracellular matrix (GMEM).
Tenascin is a disulfide-linked hexamer, and its expression is associated with both normal and pathological development and growth, while its distribution in normal adult tissue is limited.
