Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of STAT6 only when phosphorylated at Threonine 645.
Target Information
STAT6 is a transcription factor activated by cytokines, particularly interleukin-4 (IL-4) and IL-13. STAT6-deficient models show impaired IL-4-mediated functions, including Th2 helper T-cell differentiation, expression of surface markers, T-cell proliferation, immunoglobulin class switching to IgE, and partial loss of IL-4-dependent proliferation.
STAT6 mRNA is expressed in peripheral blood lymphocytes, colon, intestine, ovary, prostate, thymus, spleen, kidney, liver, lung, and placenta. It plays a critical role in Th2 immune responses and IL-4-mediated biological signaling, existing in two isoforms: STAT6a and STAT6c.
