Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of MAP3K8/COT only when phosphorylated at Threonine 290.

Target Information

MAP3K8 (COT) is a serine/threonine kinase that activates both MAP and JNK kinase pathways, playing a key role in cell cycle regulation.
MAPK signaling cascades include MAPK (ERK), MAPK kinase (MEK), and MAPK kinase kinase (MEKK).
MEKK phosphorylates and activates downstream kinases, leading to MAPK activation.
These kinases are conserved across species, including yeast, Drosophila, and mammals.
MEKK8 activates NF-kappa-B1 via proteasome-mediated proteolysis of NF-kappa-B1/p105.
This cytoplasmic protein is expressed in various normal tissues and tumor-derived cell lines.
The 58 kDa form is activated during the S and G2/M cell cycle phases, while phosphorylation occurs mainly on Ser residues in the longer form and on both Ser and Thr residues in the shorter form.
