This antibody detects endogenous WNK1 protein at a molecular weight of approximately 230 kDa.
Purity is >95% by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
WNK1 (serine/threonine kinase) is a member of the WNK subfamily and may regulate blood pressure by controlling sodium and chloride ion transport.
Mutations in WNK1 are associated with pseudohypoaldosteronism type II and hereditary sensory neuropathy type II.
WNK1 plays a crucial role in electrolyte homeostasis, cell signaling, survival, and proliferation. It acts as both an activator and inhibitor of sodium- and potassium-coupled chloride cotransporters, respectively.
It also activates SCNN1A, SCNN1B, SCNN1D, and SGK1. WNK1 localizes to the distal nephron, a kidney segment involved in salt, potassium, and pH regulation.
