This product can be used in Sandwich ELISA to detect TNF alpha using MA5-50505 as a capture antibody and MA5-50504 as a detection antibody.

Target Information

TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. It is primarily secreted by macrophages and binds to receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. TNF alpha regulates immune cell activity, cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation.

It exists as multimers of two, three, or five noncovalently linked units and shows a single 17 kDa band on SDS-PAGE under non-reducing conditions. Knockout studies in mice suggest neuroprotective functions, and TNF alpha can induce tumor necrosis when injected into tumor-bearing mice. It plays key roles in immune responses to bacterial, viral, parasitic, and certain fungal infections, as well as in tumor necrosis. TNF alpha is implicated in autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.
