Product Specific Information

The 61D3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD14, a 53–55 kDa GPI-linked glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, interfollicular macrophages, and some dendritic cells. Complexes of LPS and LBP bind with high affinity to monocytes through surface CD14.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume with 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

eFluor® 506 is excited with the 405 nm violet laser and emits at 506 nm. Recommended detection filter: 510/20 band pass or equivalent.

Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a receptor for lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in complex with LBP. Soluble CD14 (sCD14) plays a role in neutralizing serum LPS and recognizing structural variations in lipopolysaccharides. CD14 also binds apoptotic cells and is implicated in allergic, inflammatory, and infectious responses. Alternative splicing generates multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform. CD14 dysfunction is associated with mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
