Product Specific Information

The R1-12D10 monoclonal antibody recognizes rat IgG1 antibodies and can be used as a second-step reagent in flow cytometry and microscopy. It does not recognize other rat isotypes nor cross-react with mouse IgG1.

Applications Reported:

• Flow cytometric analysis
• Immunohistochemical staining
• Immunocytochemistry

Applications Tested:

• Flow cytometric analysis: ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)
• Immunohistochemistry: ≤10 µg/mL

Careful titration is recommended for optimal assay performance.

Target Information

Anti-Rat secondary antibodies are affinity-purified and specifically recognize rat immunoglobulins. They are useful for detection, sorting, or purification of target molecules. Secondary antibodies enhance assay versatility and sensitivity through signal amplification, as multiple secondaries can bind a single primary antibody.

They are commonly produced by immunizing host animals with pooled immunoglobulins from the target species and further purified or modified (e.g., immunoaffinity chromatography, fragmentation, conjugation) to generate highly specific reagents.
