Product Specific Information

The eBioGoH3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and human CD49f (integrin alpha 6), also known as very late activation antigen 6 (VLA-6 alpha chain) and platelet gpIc. CD49f is a 120 kDa transmembrane protein that associates with CD29 (integrin beta 1) to form the VLA-6 complex or with CD104 (integrin beta 4) to form the α6β4 complex. It is expressed primarily on T cells, monocytes, platelets, epithelial, and endothelial cells, and also found on germinal center B cells.

This antibody cross-reacts with human, mouse, and bovine integrin alpha 6 and can block the binding of integrin alpha 6 to laminin.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on normal human peripheral blood cells at ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.

Fluorochrome Information:
Super Bright 436 is excited with the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 436 nm. Recommended filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent.
When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Target Information

CD49f (Integrin α6, ITGA6) encodes the integrin alpha 6 protein, a component of integrin complexes involved in cell adhesion and signaling. Alpha 6 pairs with beta 4 (forming TSP180) or beta 1 (forming VLA-6). Integrins mediate interactions between the extracellular matrix (ECM) and intracellular cytoskeletal proteins, influencing cell shape, mobility, proliferation, and survival. CD49f is predominantly expressed in epithelial tissues and plays a structural role in hemidesmosomes. More than 18 alpha and 8 beta subunits with multiple splice variants have been identified in mammals.
