For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step (e.g., using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD86 is one of two ligands (the other being CD80) for CTLA4 and CD28. It functions as a costimulatory molecule in eliciting T-cell activation during antigen presentation.
Insufficient co-stimulation involving CD86/CD80 can induce immune tolerance. CD86 is a type I membrane protein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, expressed by antigen-presenting cells.
It binds to CD28 antigen and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA4) on T cells. Binding with CD28 provides a costimulatory signal for T-cell activation, while binding with CTLA4 negatively regulates T-cell activation and suppresses immune responses.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms of CD86.
Diseases associated with CD86 dysfunction include gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
