Target Information
VE-cadherin은 cadherin superfamily의 구성원으로, 염색체 16의 긴 팔에 위치한 6개의 cadherin 클러스터 중 하나에 속합니다. 이 단백질은 칼슘 의존적 세포-세포 접착 glycoprotein으로, 다섯 개의 extracellular cadherin 반복, transmembrane 영역, 그리고 highly conserved cytoplasmic tail을 포함합니다.
VE-cadherin은 세포 간 접착을 조절하여 내피세포의 결합력과 조직화를 유지하는 데 중요한 역할을 하며, 유방암 및 전립선암에서 heterozygosity 손실과 관련된 것으로 보고되었습니다.
또한 대체 스플라이스 변이가 보고되었으나, VE-cadherin의 전체 길이 서열은 아직 완전히 규명되지 않았습니다.
