MA1-43006 detects Factor V in bovine samples.
It has been successfully used in RIA and Western blot applications.
This antibody was derived from an epitope on the 120,000 activation peptide of bovine factor V.
Target Information
Coagulation factor V (Proaccelerin) is an essential component of the blood coagulation cascade. It circulates in plasma and is converted to its active form by thrombin through release of the activation peptide. The active form consists of a heavy and light chain held together by calcium ions. Active factor V acts as a cofactor with activated factor X to convert prothrombin to thrombin.
Defects in the Factor V gene can lead to conditions such as Factor V deficiency, thrombophilia due to activated protein C resistance, Budd-Chiari syndrome, ischemic stroke, and recurrent pregnancy loss.
