Target Information
Galectin-1 belongs to the lectin family of carbohydrate-binding proteins. It can exist as a monomer or homodimer and is expressed in various cell and tissue types.
Galectin-1 regulates cell growth and proliferation, induces apoptosis in activated T cells, and modulates cytokine secretion by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokine production. It plays an important role in both acute and chronic inflammation.
