Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine SF-20. Anti-Murine SF-20-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect mSF-20 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine SF-20 (500-P259) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant mSF-20.

Western Blot:
To detect mSF-20 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant mSF-20 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

The interleukins are a broad family of well-characterized cytokines, primarily of hematopoietic cell origin. Cytokines are small, soluble proteins with pleiotropic effects on a variety of cell types. They regulate immune system function and mediate inflammatory responses.

IL-25 (also called SF20/IL-25) is a secreted bone marrow stroma-derived growth factor cytokine derived from Th2 T-cells. It belongs to the IL-17 cytokine family and amplifies allergic-type inflammatory responses by acting on other cell types. IL-25 binds to mouse thymic shared antigen-1 and supports lymphoid cell proliferation. Infusion of mice with IL-25 induces IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13 gene expression, leading to epithelial cell hyperplasia, increased mucus secretion, and airway hyperreactivity—suggesting IL-25 may mediate allergic disease via production of IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, and eotaxin.
