For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.

Target Information

CEA (Carcino Embryonic Antigen, CD66e) is synthesized during fetal gut development and re-expressed in intestinal carcinomas and other tumors. It belongs to the immunoglobulin supergene family and functions as a cell adhesion molecule.
CEA antibodies are useful for identifying the origin of metastatic adenocarcinomas and distinguishing pulmonary adenocarcinomas (CEA+) from pleural mesotheliomas (weakly or rarely CEA+).
CEA is a glycoprotein tumor marker found in adenocarcinomas of the digestive system and fetal colon. The CEA and pregnancy-specific glycoprotein subgroups are located within a 1.2 Mb cluster on chromosome 19.
The protein mediates cell adhesion and is involved in tissue differentiation, angiogenesis, apoptosis, tumor suppression, metastasis, and immune modulation. Multiple transcript variants exist, though not all are fully characterized.
