Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve an antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
E-Cadherin (epithelial cadherin) is a classical cadherin belonging to the calcium-dependent adhesion protein superfamily.
It is a cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein composed of five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail.
Mutations in the CDH1 gene are associated with various cancers including gastric, breast, colorectal, thyroid, and ovarian cancer.
Loss of E-cadherin function contributes to cancer progression by increasing proliferation, invasion, and metastasis.
E-cadherin mediates bacterial adhesion and is essential for internalization processes.
It plays a critical role in tissue architecture and integrity maintenance.
In humans, E-cadherin is encoded by the CDH1 gene located on chromosome 16.
Reduced or lost E-cadherin expression in carcinomas is correlated with increased tumor invasiveness and metastatic potential.
