- In ELISAs, this antibody does not cross-react with recombinant human IL-6, IL-11, CNTF, or LIF.
- Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level: <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
Oncostatin M (OSM) is a growth and differentiation factor involved in the regulation of neurogenesis, osteogenesis, and hematopoiesis.
Produced by activated T cells, monocytes, and Kaposi’s sarcoma cells, OSM can exert both stimulatory and inhibitory effects on cell proliferation.
- Stimulates proliferation of fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and Kaposi’s sarcoma cells
- Inhibits growth of certain normal and tumor cell lines
- Promotes cytokine release (e.g., IL-6, GM-CSF, G-CSF) from endothelial cells
- Enhances LDL receptor expression in hepatoma cells
- Shares structural and functional similarities with LIF, IL-6, and CNTF
