Product Specific Information

• This antibody is expected to show broad species reactivity.
• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
• Western Blot: 1–2 µg/mL for 2 hours at room temperature.

Target Information

Cytokeratin pan is part of a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by remarkable biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides.
Cytokeratins range in molecular weight between 40–68 kDa and have an isoelectric pH between 4.9–7.8.
Individual human cytokeratins are numbered 1 to 20, and their expression patterns vary depending on the type and differentiation stage of epithelial cells.

Cytokeratin subtype expression patterns are increasingly used to distinguish different types of epithelial malignancies. Cytokeratin antibodies assist in differential diagnosis of tumors using immunohistochemistry and are valuable tools in cytopathology and flow cytometric assays.
The composition of cytokeratin pairs varies with epithelial cell type, differentiation stage, growth environment, and disease state.
Many studies have demonstrated the usefulness of keratins as markers in cancer research and tumor diagnosis.
