Product Specific Information

MA5-15724 targets KDM3A in indirect ELISA, IF, and WB applications and shows reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human KDM3A expressed in E. coli.
MA5-15724 detects KDM3A with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 147 kDa.

Target Information

JMJD1A is a histone demethylase that specifically demethylates Lys-9 of histone H3, playing a central role in the histone code.
It preferentially demethylates mono- and dimethylated H3 Lys-9 residues (especially dimethylated), with weak or no activity on trimethylated H3 Lys-9.
Demethylation generates formaldehyde and succinate. JMJD1A is involved in hormone-dependent transcriptional activation via recruitment to androgen-receptor target genes, resulting in H3 Lys-9 demethylation and transcriptional activation.
It also participates in spermatogenesis by regulating expression of genes such as PRM1 and TMP1, essential for sperm chromatin packaging and condensation.
Additionally, JMJD1A contributes to obesity resistance through regulation of metabolic genes such as PPARA and UCP1.
