PCNA는 CDK 억제제 p21, 구조 특이적 엔도뉴클레이즈 Fen1 및 XPG, DNA cytosine 5-methyltransferase (MCMT)와 결합합니다.
세포 증식 상태를 평가하거나 종양 조직의 예후 관련 증식 마커로 유용합니다.
PCNA는 G1기 및 S기 세포의 핵 내에 존재하며, DNA polymerase delta의 보조 인자로 작용합니다.
DNA 손상 시 PCNA는 RAD6 의존적 DNA 수선 경로에 관여하며, 유비퀴틴화됩니다.
두 가지 전사 변이체가 동일한 단백질을 암호화하며, 염색체 4 및 X 염색체에 유사유전자가 보고되었습니다.
