In Western blot, this antibody detects a band at approximately 29 kDa in HD-11 cell lysates transfected with chIL-1.
Rabbit anti-Chicken interleukin-1 beta antibody recognizes chicken Interleukin 1 beta (chIL-1β), which shares homology with mammalian IL-1β.

Target Information

Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
IL-1β is synthesized in response to inflammatory stimuli as a 31 kDa inactive pro-form that accumulates in the cytosol.
Cleavage of pro-IL-1β into the active 17 kDa protein requires activation of inflammasomes, which respond to pathogens, stress, and other danger signals.
Activated caspase-1 cleaves pro-IL-1β, leading to secretion of the active cytokine through a non-classical pathway.
IL-1β signals through IL-1RI and IL-1RII receptors, shared with IL-1α, and its activity can be inhibited by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA).
It plays a key role in innate immune defense, stimulating production of other proinflammatory cytokines and acute-phase responses.
Elevated IL-1β levels are associated with chronic inflammatory diseases, and IL-1β neutralizing antibodies have potential therapeutic applications.
