Target Information

The FBXO6 gene encodes an F-box protein, characterized by a ~40 amino acid F-box motif. F-box proteins are subunits of the SCF (SKP1-cullin-F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, which mediates phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
F-box proteins are classified into three groups:

1. Fbws: Contain WD-40 domains
2. Fbls: Contain leucine-rich repeats
3. Fbxs: Contain various interaction modules or no recognizable motifs

FBXO6 belongs to the Fbxs class, and its C-terminal region shares high similarity with rat NFB42, potentially involved in cell cycle regulation.
