Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of CDC25A only when phosphorylated at Serine 76.
Target Information
CDC25A is a member of the CDC25 family of phosphatases. Three CDC25 genes—CDC25A, CDC25B, and CDC25C—exist in human cells and function at different phases of the cell cycle.
CDC25A is required for progression through G1 and S phases and activates the cyclin-dependent kinase CDC2 by removing two phosphate groups.
CDC25A is specifically degraded in response to DNA damage, preventing cells with chromosomal abnormalities from progressing through division.
Although CDC25A is an oncogene, its exact role in oncogenesis has not yet been fully demonstrated.
