Target Information
TBK1 (TANK-binding kinase 1) is a serine/threonine kinase and a member of the IKK family, involved in NF-κB activation and IRF3 signaling.
It acts as a key mediator of gene expression during immune and inflammatory responses.
Phosphorylation of I-κB by the IKK complex leads to its degradation and NF-κB activation.
NAK/TBK1 activates IKKβ through direct phosphorylation and mediates IKK and NF-κB activation in response to growth factors.
It is also critical in protecting embryonic liver from apoptosis.
