Target Information
Fatty acid synthase (FASN) is a multifunctional enzyme catalyzing the synthesis of palmitate from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA in the presence of NADPH, producing long-chain saturated fatty acids. In certain cancer cell lines, FASN has been found fused with estrogen receptor-alpha (ER-alpha), forming an in-frame fusion protein.
