This antibody detects endogenous levels of total RPC3.

Target Information

DNA-dependent RNA polymerase catalyzes the transcription of DNA into RNA using ribonucleoside triphosphates as substrates.
POLR3C is a core component of RNA polymerase III, which synthesizes small RNAs such as 5S rRNA and tRNAs.
It may interact with other subunits of the RNA Pol III complex to bind the TFIIIB-DNA complex and may be involved in the recruitment and stabilization of the subcomplex or stimulation of catalytic functions during initiation.
POLR3C also plays a key role in sensing and limiting infection by intracellular bacteria and DNA viruses, acting as both a nuclear and cytosolic DNA sensor involved in the innate immune response.
It can detect non-self dsDNA and transcribe it into dsRNA, leading to type I interferon and NF-κB induction through the RIG-I pathway.
