CSNK1E (CK1 epsilon)은 세린/트레오닌 키나아제로, 소포 수송, DNA 손상 복구, 세포 주기 진행, 세포질 분열 등 다양한 세포 기능에 관여합니다.
이 단백질은 세포 분화, 증식, 염색체 분리, 생체 리듬 및 대사 경로 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 조절 단백질을 인산화합니다.
CK1 계열은 보존된 키나아제 도메인을 공유하지만 N- 및 C-말단 도메인에서 차이를 보입니다. 포유류에서는 alpha, beta, gamma1, gamma2, gamma3, delta, epsilon의 7가지 멤버가 존재합니다.
CK1 epsilon은 PP2A 억제를 통해 Akt를 양성 조절할 수 있으며, 신경퇴행성 질환에서도 중요한 역할을 합니다.
