Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Anti-Acetyl Cholinesterase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Acetyl Cholinesterase (Bovine Erythrocytes). Cross-reactivity against Acetyl Cholinesterase from other sources is unknown.

Target Information

Acetylcholinesterase hydrolyzes the neurotransmitter acetylcholine at neuromuscular junctions and brain cholinergic synapses, terminating signal transmission.
It is also found on red blood cell membranes, constituting the Yt blood group antigen.
Acetylcholinesterase exists in multiple molecular forms with similar catalytic properties but differing in oligomeric assembly and cell surface attachment.
The major form found in brain, muscle, and other tissues is the hydrophilic species forming disulfide-linked oligomers with collagenous or lipid-containing structural subunits.
