Target Information
MAPK11 (p38 beta) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in various cellular processes and activated by proinflammatory cytokines and environmental stress. The encoded protein belongs to the MAP kinase family, which integrates multiple biochemical signals and regulates proliferation, differentiation, transcription, and development. This kinase is closely related to p38 MAP kinase and is activated by phosphorylation through MAP kinase kinases (MKKs), preferably MKK6. Transcription factor ATF2/CREB2 is a known substrate.
