Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody SolA15 recognizes mouse and rat Ki-67, a 300 kDa nuclear protein expressed during all active phases of the cell cycle (G1, S, G2, and mitosis) but absent from resting cells (G0). Ki-67 redistributes from the nucleus to chromosomes during mitosis and serves as a marker for cell proliferation. The Ki-67 labeling index is used to predict outcomes in tumor studies.

SolA15 also recognizes human, non-human primate, and canine Ki-67.

Applications Reported: Intracellular staining for flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and immunocytochemistry.
Applications Tested:

• ICC on fixed OLN93 cells ≤10 µg/mL
• Flow cytometry on stimulated mouse splenocytes ≤0.25 µg/test using Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product #00-5523-00).
  A test is defined as staining a cell sample in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
  Careful titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

Ki-67 is a nuclear protein expressed during cell cycle phases G1, S, G2, and M. It associates with euchromatin and heterochromatin through its forkhead-associated domain (FHA). Ki-67 expression varies by cell cycle stage and is absent in G0 cells, making it a reliable proliferation marker. In neoplastic tissues, the Ki-67 index correlates with tumor grade and prognosis, and it is routinely used as a marker of cell cycling and proliferation.
