Target Information
Laminins are a family of extracellular matrix glycoproteins and major noncollagenous constituents of basement membranes. They are involved in cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth, and metastasis. Laminins are composed of three non-identical chains—alpha, beta, and gamma (formerly A, B1, and B2)—forming a cruciform structure.
Defects in the LMNB1 gene can cause Leukodystrophy, demyelinating, autosomal dominant, adult-onset (ADLD).
