Target Information
PKM2 (Pyruvate Kinase M2) catalyzes the conversion of phosphoenolpyruvate to pyruvate and ATP.
It interacts with thyroid hormone, mediating metabolic effects, and binds Opa protein, a bacterial outer membrane protein involved in gonococcal adherence and invasion of human cells.
Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms of PKM2 have been reported.
