Target Information
ALDH1A1은 aldehyde dehydrogenases 계열의 단백질로, 알코올 대사 주요 산화 경로의 두 번째 효소입니다. 간에는 cytosolic 및 mitochondrial 두 주요 isoform이 존재하며, 이들은 전기영동 이동성, 효소 특성, 세포 내 위치에서 구분됩니다. 대부분의 백인에서는 두 isozyme이 모두 존재하지만, 약 50%의 동양인은 mitochondrial isozyme이 결핍되어 있습니다. 이는 동양인에서 급성 알코올 중독 빈도가 높은 것과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다.
