Product Specific Information
- In Western blots, approximately 15% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Progranulin is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Progranulin is the precursor protein of Granulin, also known as Proepithelin and PC cell-derived growth factor. Cleavage of the signal peptide produces mature Granulin, which regulates cell growth.
Progranulin stimulates proliferation of epithelial cells, promotes anchorage-independent growth, and confers epithelial tumorigenicity when overexpressed.
The Progranulin/epithelin gene plays multifunctional roles in epithelial homeostasis, reproduction, immune response, and neuronal function.
It is constitutively expressed in various epithelia, including skin, GI tract, and reproductive tissues, and is also found in immune cells and specific neurons.
