For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.

This gene encodes a member of the ADAMTS protein family. Members share distinct protein modules including:

• Propeptide region
• Metalloproteinase domain
• Disintegrin-like domain
• Thrombospondin type 1 motif

Individual members differ in the number of C-terminal TS motifs, and some possess unique C-terminal domains.
The enzyme encoded by this gene lacks a C-terminal TS motif and is responsible for degradation of aggrecan (cartilage proteoglycan) and brevican (brain extracellular matrix protein).
Its activity suggests important roles in arthritic disease and central nervous system function, potentially in glioma progression.
