Product Specific Information
In direct ELISAs, less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Tie-2, recombinant mouse Tie-2, and recombinant human Tie-1 is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
The TEK receptor tyrosine kinase (TIE2) is expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells. TEK signaling is critical for endothelial cell–smooth muscle cell communication in venous morphogenesis, and defects in TEK are associated with inherited venous malformations.
Angiopoietin-1 binds to this receptor and mediates a signaling pathway involved in embryonic vascular development. TIE2 expression increases in response to thyroid-stimulating hormone and agents that elevate intracellular cAMP.
Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) expressing TIE2 are quiescent and antiapoptotic, forming a side population that adheres to osteoblasts within the bone marrow niche.
