Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human TIMP-1. Anti-Human TIMP-1-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human TIMP-1 matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human TIMP-1 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human TIMP-1 (500-P280Bt) as a detection antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human TIMP-1.

Western Blot:
To detect Human TIMP-1 by Western Blot analysis, use at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. In conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human TIMP-1 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

TIMP1 (metalloproteinase inhibitor 1) is a metalloproteinase inhibitor that forms one-to-one complexes with target metalloproteinases such as collagenases and irreversibly inactivates them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor.
TIMP1 acts on MMP1, MMP2, MMP3, MMP7, MMP8, MMP9, MMP10, MMP11, MMP12, MMP14, and MMP16.
It also functions as a growth factor regulating cell differentiation, migration, and cell death. TIMP1 activates cellular signaling cascades via CD63 and ITGB1.
