Specificity: This antibody binds to the human 4-1BB, which is expressed on the surface of activated T cells.
Target Information
CD137, also known as TNFRSF9 or 4-1BB, is an inducible costimulatory molecule expressed mainly on activated T cells. Its ligand, 4-1BBL, is expressed on activated macrophages, mature B cells, hematopoietic stem cells, and myeloid progenitor cells.
CD137 signaling supports the survival and expansion of activated and memory CD8+ T cells, while also regulating myelopoiesis and dendritic cell development. Triggering CD137 induces cytokine release that modulates peripheral monocyte survival. Soluble forms of CD137 may act as negative regulators of immune responses.
