Target Information

CA14 belongs to a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. It is predicted to be a type I membrane protein and shares high sequence similarity with the other transmembrane CA isoform, CA XII. However, CA14 and CA XII exhibit different tissue-specific expression patterns and may play distinct physiological roles.
