• For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.

Target Information

This gene encodes a protein highly similar to mouse and rat kynurenine aminotransferase II. The rat protein forms a homodimer with two transaminase activities:

1. Transamination of alpha-aminoadipic acid, a final step in the saccharopine pathway for L-lysine catabolism.
2. Transamination of kynurenine to produce kynurenine acid, the precursor of kynurenic acid with neuroprotective properties.

Two alternative transcripts encoding the same isoform have been identified, though additional transcripts and isoforms may exist.
