In direct ELISAs and Western blots, less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Integrin alpha 1, alpha 8, alpha 9, alpha L, and recombinant mouse Integrin 3, 4, 5, E, and M is observed.
Target Information
This gene encodes an alpha integrin, a heterodimeric integral membrane glycoprotein composed of alpha and beta chains that mediate cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion.
When bound to the beta 1 chain, this integrin acts as a receptor for VCAM1, cytotactin, and osteopontin. Expression is known to be upregulated in small cell lung cancers.
