Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages include:
- Superior specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
The SHIP1 gene belongs to the inositol polyphosphate-5-phosphatase (INPP5) family. It encodes a protein with an N-terminal SH2 domain, an inositol phosphatase domain, and two C-terminal interaction domains.
Expression is restricted to hematopoietic cells, where tyrosine phosphorylation mediates movement from the cytosol to the plasma membrane. At the membrane, SHIP1 hydrolyzes the 5′ phosphate from phosphatidylinositol (3,4,5)-trisphosphate and inositol-1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate, influencing multiple signaling pathways.
Overall, SHIP1 acts as a negative regulator of myeloid cell proliferation and survival. Alternate splice variants encoding different isoforms have been characterized.
