CD203c 단백질은 세포외 뉴클레오타이드의 가수분해에 관여하는 ectoenzyme 계열에 속하며, ATPase 및 ATP pyrophosphatase 활성을 가지고 있습니다. 이는 type II 막단백질로, 인간에서는 자궁, basophil, mast cell 등에서 발현이 확인되었습니다.
관련 rat 단백질은 췌장, 소장, 대장, 간에서 발현되며, 미성숙 교세포 아형에서도 발현이 보고되었습니다.
