Target Information
CD200 is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein containing two immunoglobulin domains and belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a broadly distributed cell surface glycoprotein that interacts with CD200R on myeloid cells, helping to prevent macrophage activation locally. Homologues of CD200 have been identified in various herpesviruses and poxviruses. Studies in mouse and rat indicate that CD200 regulates myeloid cell activity and provides inhibitory signals for macrophages in diverse tissues. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported. CD200 dysfunction is associated with diseases such as Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy.
