Target Information
CD25 (IL2 receptor alpha chain / IL2RA) is a cytokine receptor subunit involved in the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes.
The IL2 receptor is a heterotrimeric complex composed of IL2RA, IL2RB, and IL2RG chains, forming the high-affinity receptor for IL2.
Homodimeric IL2RA results in a low-affinity receptor, while IL2RB homodimers form a medium-affinity receptor.
IL2 is primarily produced by mature T cells and functions as a growth and differentiation factor, as well as a regulator of cell death.
Mutations in IL2RA are associated with interleukin 2 receptor alpha deficiency and immune dysregulation.
